The best treatment is the one that isn't needed

Dental Prevention

Healthy teeth for a lifetime—that’s no coincidence, but the result of consistent preventive care. Our preventive care is personalized, thorough, and more than just a cleaning.

What is professional preventive care?

Preventive care means taking proactive measures—and it’s the most effective investment in your dental health. At our practice, professional dental prophylaxis goes far beyond a standard cleaning: We assess your individual risk profile, remove plaque that you can’t reach with a toothbrush, and provide you with specific recommendations for your daily oral care routine at home.

Professional Dental Cleaning (PZR)

Thorough removal of tartar, plaque, and stains—even in areas that are difficult to reach with at-home cleaning. Finally, the teeth are polished and sealed with fluoride.

Customized Risk Analysis

Every mouth is different. We analyze your individual risk profile—for tooth decay, periodontitis, and other conditions—and develop a preventive care plan tailored to your needs.

Periodontitis Prevention

Gum disease often begins without us even noticing. We identify early signs of periodontitis and take action before damage occurs—to ensure healthy gums as the foundation for healthy teeth.

Oral Hygiene Instruction

Are you brushing your teeth correctly? We’ll show you personalized brushing and oral care techniques tailored specifically to your teeth alignment and your individual situation—in a practical way and without lecturing you.

Children's Preventive Care

Healthy teeth start in childhood. We support your children from an early age with age-appropriate preventive care, sealants, and fun oral hygiene training—for a great start to their dental health.

Frequently Asked Questions

1How often should I get a professional teeth cleaning?
For most adults, we recommend one or two visits per year. If you’re at increased risk—for example, if you’re prone to periodontitis, have dental implants, or wear braces—more frequent visits may be advisable.
2Is professional teeth cleaning painful?
No. Professional teeth cleaning is usually painless. If you have sensitive gums, we’ll be especially gentle and adjust the intensity to suit your needs.
3Does health insurance cover the costs?
Professional teeth cleaning is an IGeL service and is not fully covered by public health insurance plans. However, many plans provide a subsidy for it once a year. Numerous supplemental insurance plans cover the full cost—check your plan details.
4What's the difference from regular dental checkups?
A routine checkup at the dentist is a brief examination. A professional teeth cleaning is a separate, much more comprehensive appointment with our dental hygienist—and goes far beyond a routine checkup in terms of both depth and effectiveness.
5At what age does preventive care become advisable?
As early as possible. Children can benefit from preventive care starting with their very first baby tooth. We support your family at every stage of life.
