Saving Teeth with the Highest Precision

Microscopic Endodontics

Where others give up, we find solutions. Using a surgical microscope, we treat root canals with a level of precision that simply cannot be achieved with the naked eye—ensuring that teeth are preserved.

What is microscopic endodontics?

Endodontics deals with the inner workings of the tooth—the pulp and the root canals. When inflammation or infection has developed deep within the tooth, root canal treatment is often the only way to save the tooth. Thanks to the surgical microscope, we work with up to 25x magnification—enabling diagnoses and treatments that would not be possible without this technology.

Root Canal Treatment

Inflamed or dead dental pulp is carefully removed, and the root canals are cleaned, disinfected, and permanently sealed. Under the microscope, we can detect even the smallest branches and cracks—ensuring a complete treatment with no residue.

Root-tip resection

In some cases, surgery at the tip of the root is necessary. This procedure is minimally invasive, precise, and performed under microscopic guidance—to minimize damage to the surrounding tissue.

Root Canal Revision

If a previous root canal treatment was unsuccessful, we offer a revision procedure. We reopen the canal, remove the old filling material, and treat the cause of the ongoing symptoms.

Tooth Preservation as a Goal

We believe that the best dental restoration is no restoration at all. Our primary goal is to preserve your natural teeth—as long as it is medically appropriate and possible.

Diagnostics & Planning

Digital X-rays and a clinical examination will reveal the exact cause of your symptoms. We will discuss the findings openly with you and explain all treatment options.

1

Treatment

Under local anesthesia and using a surgical microscope, the root canals are carefully cleaned and sealed.

2

Final Care

After endodontic treatment, the tooth is permanently restored with a filling or crown.

3

Follow-up inspection

We'll monitor your recovery and are available to answer any questions you may have at any time.

Frequently Asked Questions

1Is root canal treatment painful?
No. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia—you won't feel a thing. Many patients are surprised at how relaxed the process is. Mild sensitivity after the procedure is normal and subsides within a few days.
2How many appointments are needed?
In many cases, treatment is completed in one or two appointments. In cases involving complex findings or follow-up procedures, an additional appointment may be necessary.
3What happens if I don't have a tooth saved?
An untreated, inflamed tooth can lead to more serious complications—bone loss, the spread of infection, or tooth loss. Replacing the tooth with an implant is generally much more involved and expensive than saving the natural tooth.
4Does health insurance cover the costs?
Statutory health insurance plans cover basic root canal treatment services. Microscope-assisted treatment is a private service under the GOZ — we will provide you with a transparent cost estimate in advance.
5When is root canal treatment necessary?
Typical signs include: persistent toothache, sensitivity to heat or cold, swelling around the gums, or a tooth that is becoming darker. Even if you’re not experiencing pain, an X-ray may reveal inflammation. If you’re unsure, just stop by.
